Till was killed after whistling at a white woman while visiting relatives in Mississippi 55 years ago. Saturday was the 55th anniversary of his death.
Wreath-laying concludes weekend honoring Till
August 29, 2010 (CHICAGO) The ceremony was held by the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation at Burr Oak Cemetery and concluded a weekend-long commemoration of the Chicago teenager whose murder was a key moment in the Civil Rights Movement.
