School bus driver accused in second incident

August 30, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The Chicago Tribune reports that 27-year-old Antonio Ross has been in Cook County Jail since February 1. He is charged with the 2009 sexual assault of a special education student.

Before he was charged in that case, he remained on the job. That's when Ross was accused of trapping a teen on his vehicle and propositioning her. He was later charged in that case as well.

A spokesperson for CPS tells ABC 7 that the district was told the driver had been fired.

ABC 7 tried contacting Jewel's Bus Company, but no one with the company has commented so far.

Although state and local agencies oversee bus drivers with background checks and audits, they largely rely on the companies to police themselves during employee investigations.
