CTA Red Line power restored

One person was killed on the North Side of Chicago after being struck by a CTA Red Line train Monday afternoon.

The victim was hit by a northbound train near the Berwyn station, which is just north of Foster Avenue. Fire department crews worked for about an hour to remove the victim who was pinned under the train.

Power was cut to the line for about an hour and a half. Busses were used to shuttle passengers around the scene.

All train service was restored on the line by around 3:30 p.m.
