Reginald Frank, 33, of the 80 block of East 8th Place in Ford Heights, has been charged with robbery and unlawful restraint. He appeared in Rolling Meadows court on Monday.
The victim alleges that Frank robbed his hotel room after knocking him unconscious. He says Frank stole his backpack, which contained his cell phone, wallet, Dell computer, watch, and approximately $150.00
After officers reviewed video surveillance from the hotel, they searched the area and spotted Frank in front of the 7-11 store located at Oakton and Elmhurst Road in Des Plaines. The officer took Frank into custody without incident. Police recovered the victim's cell phone, watch and cash from Frank's clothing.
Police say Frank has a long criminal history, with 64 arrests going back to 1994, including drug charges, DUI and gambling. He also served time in the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2004 for manufacturing and delivery of cocaine, and in 2005 for home invasion.
Reginald Frank's next court date is September 21st in Rolling Meadows.
