Hanif Sashekhem, 44, was arrested Thursday and charged with endangering the life and health of a child.
Police were alerted after two people noticed the baby was left unattended in Sashekhem's SUV in an electronics store parking lot in Downers Grove.
Police say the temperature at the time was around 80 degrees.
The baby was released to Sashekhem's wife.
