For a monthly fee, consumers would be able to download movies over the Internet and also rent a certain number of discs from its kiosks at grocery stores and other locations. That would mean the toughest competition for Netflix to date, who already offers streaming and DVDs through the mail.
Redbox is still working out agreements with the movie distributors. The company hopes to have an announcement ready by the fall.
