Hundreds took part in the Von Steuben Parade on Lincoln Avenue Saturday afternoon. The parade celebrates Prussian baron Friedrich Von Steuben, who came to the United States as a volunteer offering his services to General George Washington.

The parade is considered one of Chicago's primary German-American events of the year.

Mayor Daley and ABC7's own Janet Davies were among the many people who marched in the parade.
