Parents want the field house to be renovated into a library, but Chicago Public Schools says the building is structurally unsafe and should be torn down.
On Tuesday 25th ward Alderman Danny Solis sent a letter to the parents that CPS CEO Ron Huberman agreed to not have the building demolished until a third structural assessment is completed. Once that report is completed, Solis promised to review it with the parents and discuss options for the field house.
