A search is under way for a driver who hit a pedestrian and did not stop.

It happened at around 7 p.m. in the 3300-block of North Long on the city's Northwest Side.

The victim is a woman who is hospitalized in very critical condition.

Police are looking for the driver of a black, four-door Audi.

Neighbors say there was a gang-related altercation at a nearby park, and the driver was trying to get away when the woman was struck.

"They just left her to die in the street, no conscience, no remorse," said Miranda Yonts. "They kept going. That could have been my child. I take my daughter to the park daily."
