Demonstrators call for jobs program funding

September 29, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and others are calling on Congress to extend federal funding for Governor Quinn's "Put Illinois to Work" program.

The Governor has pledged to spend $75 million in state money to keep the temporary jobs program alive for up to two months while Illinois waits to see if congress will extend funding for it.

People at the rally said they want lawmakers to speed up the process.
