James Nelson, 31, went to hike on Mount of the Holy Cross on October 3rd.
His fiancee reported him missing a few days later after not hearing from him.
Nelson is said to be an experienced hiker who had gear and supplies but did not bring a cell phone.
The Colorado National Guard is dropping search teams into the mountains near Vail to look for Nelson.
