A big celebration was held Saturday as a new mayor was picked in East Chicago, Indiana.

A Democratic caucus chose former city councilman Anthony Copeland to serve. He will finish 14 months left on the term of former mayor George Pabey.

Last month, Pabey was convicted of conspiracy and theft of city funds. He had city employees work on a home that he owns.

Copeland was immediately sworn into office. He says one of his biggest challenges will be dealing with the city's multi-million dollar deficit.
