The semi was heading south on Route 394 when it hit the car, which was attempting turn onto Route 394 from Steger Road.
The victim has been identified as Kelle Ill, 32, of St. John, Indiana.
The truck driver was not hurt, and no citations have been issued.
Traffic had to be rerouted for several hours following the crash.
