City council to consider tougher fines for caustic liquids

Two women who were disfigured in acid attacks spoke before the city council earlier this week.

Esperanza Medina and Karli Butler want tougher penalties for people who use acid as a weapon.

The Illinois Retail Merchant's Association has expressed concern that restrictions may impact the business of companies that sell products containing sulfuric acid.
