More than 650 women who have the surgery were surveyed by researchers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
About 175 of those women had silicone implants. Those with silicone reported greater satisfaction with them then those who had saline implants.
Researchers hope the survey will help post-mastectomy patients and their doctors as they consider reconstructive options.
