The most satisfied Chicago Transit Authority riders are the ones who use high-tech devices while they ride. A new study by Northwestern University found that riders enjoy using devices such as cell phones and iPods so that they can be productive or entertained during their commutes.

Some also use the devices to avoid contact with strangers on the train.

Many riders who read books and newspapers are also satisfied, but they tend to be older passengers.
