The amount of radiation from a mammogram is so slight that the benefits outweigh the risks. That's the conclusion of a new study in Radiology.

Scientists say the risk of radiation induced breast cancers is mentioned by critics but the reality is that risk is slight.

The study says the good obtained from having a screening mammogram far exceeds the risk you might have from the radiation received from a low dose mammogram.

Authors say their study shows it's better to get the screening mammography than skip it.
