Poll: Fewer Americans plan to hit post-holiday sales

November 18, 2010

A new poll by Consumer Reports finds fewer Americans plan to hit the stores during the traditional three-day holiday shopping weekend that follows Thanksgiving.

Twenty four-percent of consumers surveyed say they plan to go out in search of those in-store deals. That is about 16 million fewer shoppers than last year.

Consumer Reports says the percentage of people who plan to shop on-line that weekend has remained steady.
