Macy's offers 'magic mirrors' for trying on clothes

November 23, 2010

That's where the "magic mirror" comes in. Macy's is experimenting with interactive mirrors allowing customers to avoid dressing rooms all together.

First, shoppers take a picture and virtually scroll through the clothes in the computer catalog. Then, with a flick, they try them on and manipulate the garment until it fits and determines the correct size.

The system will print a photo for approval. The program can even suggest accessories to match the item.
