Police: Chicago crime down 3.8 pct in Nov

According to the report, total crime dropped in the city by 3.8 percent. That drop includes a 9.8 percent reduction in violent crime and 2.8 percent drop in homicides.

The statistics also show 12 fewer murders through the end of November.

One category where crime spiked in November was motor vehicle thefts. The report shows a nearly 23-percent jump in stolen vehicles.
