The Oak Brook Board of Fire and Police Commissioners heard testimony Thursday night.
Stephen Peterson was accused of violating department rules when he briefly took some of his father's guns.
The younger Peterson has admitted to taking the guns in 2007 after his father's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared. Drew Peterson is a person of interest in that case and he's awaiting trial on charges he killed his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
