Metra struggling with delays across Chicago area

December 10, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Metra Electric riders were coping with delays because of switching problems at 67th Street. As of 8:30 a.m., trains were passing slowly.

Also, an accident involving a train and a car near Wolf Road and 153rd Street in Orland Park was affecting service.

All Metra service in the town of Roselle was halted, as well, while police and fire officials investigated a gas leak near Irving Park Road and Roselle Road. Roselle was closed between Irving Park and Central. Metra Milwaukee West trains began passing slowly after approximately one hour and one-half hours of no movement.
