Thousands of Chicago Public Schools students will have safe places to spend their winter breaks.

CPS officials announced the safe-haven holiday program on Tuesday. The eight-day session is designed to provide guidance services and activities to students, including workshops on conflict resolution, positive communication and arts and crafts.

Students enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible for the program, which is held at 80 sites across Chicago. Parents can call 311 for location information.
