Congress passed the Asian Carp Prevention and Control Act earlier this month.
It is now against the law to bring Asian carp across state lines or into the United States except for scientific purposes.
This is a step toward keeping the Asian carp from invading the Great Lakes, where experts say it would take food away from native wildlife.
