No prison time for driver convicted in girl's death

December 17, 2010 (PORTAGE, Ind.)

Richard McCall was accused of trying to scare a group of children he believed were vandalizing his abandoned home in Portage, Indiana, by racing up to the house in his truck.

He struck and killed Elizabeth Grace Miller.

Friday, McCall was sentenced to one year in jail.

The judge then suspended the sentence, saying it could be served as a year of probation.
