Prepare to dish out more for wireless data

With the explosion of smart phones and tablets on the market, analysts say we are downloading double the data we did last year.

To meet that demand, experts say cell phone companies are scrambling to build faster, larger networks. That's costing the industry as much as $50 billion a year.

Wireless providers are passing the tab to consumers by eliminating unlimited data plans and charging higher fees for faster service or large downloads.
