Dr. Martin Luther King Day is Monday, and it is a federal holiday.

All Chicago Public Schools and most suburban schools will be closed.

All federal, state, county and city government offices will be closed.

There's no mail delivery, since all post offices will be closed.

Only express mail will be delivered.

All public libraries and most banks will be closed.

One exception is public transit. CTA, Metra and Pace will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

St. Sabina Catholic Church celebrated King's life during services Sunday morning.

A friend and colleague of King's spoke to the congregation.

Dr. Vincent Harding worked with King on a speech against the Vietnam War and helped develop the King Memorial Center in Atlanta.
