Ill. Supreme Court refuses to hear O'Hare cemetery case

The O'Hare expansion battle over a cemetery in suburban Bensenville has come to an end.

The Illinois Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal from the church which operates St. Johns Cemetery. That means the city of Chicago will now take control.

The cemetery sits in path of a proposed new runaway, so the remains will be moved to other cemeteries.

Relatives of those buried at St. Johns called it a very sad day.

The decision comes at time when the expansion project is in doubt because airlines say it is too expensive.
