Former commander Jon Burge, who was convicted of lying about police torture, will continue to collect his police pension.

The Chicago Police Pension Fund Board vote was split on whether to discontinue Burge's pension. The 4 to 4 vote means the measure failed.

Burge will continue to collect about $3,700 a month.

Burge was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison last week after his felony conviction for lying about the torture of suspects.
