Fire damaged a west suburban gym operated by the family of a former coach who was accused of molesting girls there. The fire started at about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning at American Gymnastics in Aurora.
The gym is owned by the mother of Michael Cardamone. He was convicted of abusing seven girls in 2005 and sentenced to 20 year in prison, but that was overturned by an appeals court. DuPage County prosecutors say they plan to retry him.
No one was hurt in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
