Water floods Southwest Side streets, parking lot

A sheared off fire hydrant poured water into the streets near Central and Roosevelt on the city's Southwest Side Wednesday afternoon.

The water partially flooded a parking lot.

The Chicago Water Department was called to the scene to repair that hydrant. A 24-inch water main led to the hydrant and has been shut off.

People in the immediate area will be without water service while repairs are being made.
