Mixed bag when it comes to Americans' health

Life expectancy rates are on the rise, but obesity levels are still climbing, according to the annual State of the Nation's Health report.

Health experts say we are living longer but we are living longer with disease.

Cholesterol levels are now better controlled but researchers say that's mostly due to a huge increase in the use of statins.

It's estimated one in four American adults over 45 are now using statins to prevent heart disease. And what worries some if that the drugs are being used in place of exercise.

There's also concern the reliance on statins could put a strain on our healthcare system and economy in coming years.
