The city's second longest serving alderman is heading into a runoff. 50th Ward Alderman Bernard Stone told supporters Tuesday night, "we ran number one today and we'll run number one in April."

Stone, 83, is running for his eleventh term in the Chicago City Council.

Stone appears poised to face the wife of Democratic committeeman and state senator Ira Silverstein.

Already the gloves are coming off. Stone said Debra Silverstein will have to answer questions about "slumlords funding her campaign."
