DePaul University is warning students that theft of iPhones and iPods is on the increase.

The school's public safety office says many of the robberies occur when people are walking down the streets alone in the evening hours and on CTA platforms and trains.

The offenders approach individuals from behind, grab their belongings and flee.

In some cases, victims have been struck from behind and knocked to the ground.
