Continental Airlines ends free snacks service

Continental Airlines passengers seated in coach for domestic flights will now have to pay for pretzels and cookies.

Until now, the snacks were complimentary with Continental's in-flight beverage service.

The move is consistent with United Airlines' policy as the two airlines merge.

Continental says the move could save it close to $3 million a year.
