Unemployment may be better than bad job

A new study finds having a bad short-term or poorly paid job can harm your mental health just as much as having no job.

The study determined that getting a high-quality job after being unemployed boosted mental health by an average of 3 points.

But getting a poor quality job led to a mental health decline of 5.6 points.

The study appears in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
