Website: Ill. ranks last as retirement state

Illinois ranks dead last among all the states for places to retire, according to a retirement website.

The website says Illinois' budget problem -- which could impact funding for programs that seniors use-- and the cold winters are reasons for the low ranking.

However, one positive for retirees in Illinois is that the state does not tax pensions and Social Security.

The website's top four states, in order, based on taxes, the climate, and the state's fiscal health are West Virginia, Wyoming, Pennsylania and Texas.
