State reps vote to lift riverboat casino smoking ban

The Illinois House has voted to lift the ban on smoking at some riverboat casinos.

The bill would allow customers to light up at casinos next to border states that do allow smoking.

Supporters say the smoking ban is costing Illinois business. Opponents say it is unfair to subject gamblers and casino employees to second-hand smoke.

The bill now heads to the Senate.
