Study links attractiveness to happiness

It turns out good looking people are generally happier than less attractive people.

That may be due to the economic benefit of being beautiful or handsome.

Researchers at the University of Texas analyzed information from five surveys conducted between 1971 and 2009 from all around the world. They found people in the top 15 percent of looks were more than 10 percent happier than those in the bottom 10 percent.

The lead author contends better looking people usually have higher incomes and marry people who are attractive and earn more money.

The study was published by the Institute for the Study of Labor.
