An elevator malfunction apparently caused a fire in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.

It started around 10 a.m. Thursday morning in the 700-block of West Bittersweet on the city's North Side.

A motor in an elevator apparently caught fire in the basement of the building.

One woman had to be rescued from the 12th floor.

No one was hurt.
