Chicagoan 'best new chef' by Food and Wine

Chicago's Top Chef received a top honor Tuesday from Food & Wine. Chef Stephanie Izard, whose restaurant Girl and the Goat is still booked months in advance, is one of the best new chefs in the country, according to the magazine.

Izard was the 2008 winner of the popular TV show "Top Chef," but she was known in Chicago before at her Bucktown restaurant Scylla before. Izard's Girl & the Goat restaurant on Randolph opened last July and remains packed most nights with reservations booked months in advance. says Izard is amazing "Because her earthy approach is epitomized in dishes like calamari stuffed with lamb sausage and sweet garlic."
