Anti-crime bills head to IL Senate

The Illinois House has unanimously approved two anti-crime proposals.

Both were sponsored by Elgin Republican Representative Keith Farnham. One would fine those convicted of drug charges. The money would be used to re-pay police for the costs of making arrests. The other bill seeks federal funds for a statewide anti-gang program.

Both now go to the state senate.
