Vigorous exercise might improve mood

May 4, 2011

A new report finds a vigorous workout will ultimately make you feel better than less strenuous exercise.

In the small study, researchers compared 11 sedentary people who did moderate and high intensity exercise. Twenty minutes after the workouts those who really broke a sweat seemed to be in a better mood.

The study is being presented at the annual meeting of the British Psychological Society in Scotland.

Researchers hope it will help set workout guidelines for those looking to be the best mental boost.
