Level II HazMat called on Chicago's Near West Side

Chicago firefighters were called to an apartment building on Chicago's Near West Side to check out reports of high carbon monoxide levels Friday afternoon.

It's was called a Level II HazMat because of very high CO levels. Occupants were evacuated from the building at 6 S. Laflin.

Later on Friday, CO levels were brought back to normal and apartment building residents were allowed back inside.

So far, there have been no reports of anyone becoming ill.
