New research finds that many people going into medicine think that kidney doctors are overworked and underpaid.
The Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology also notes that part of the problem may be in the way the field is taught. Many students say the lessons are overly technical and not engaging. This is a concern with the increase of hypertension and diabetes, the two leading causes of chronic kidney disease.
