Kabiru Adewunmi, 16, played for a youth soccer league run by the Chicago Fire.
In April, the teen was with friends in the city's Chatham neighborhood when a group of men approached them and asked if they were Nigerian soccer players. When they said they were, someone in the group opened fire and killed Adewunmi.
Chicago police have asked for the public's help in locating the offenders.
