Chicago celebrates moms throughout the city

In the South Side Canaryville neighborhood, moms were honored with a parade. Fathers and sons came out to March for Moms. It started at 47th and Union and ended at St. Gabriel Catholic Church for the 9 a.m. mass.

Cardinal Francis George honored mothers and mothers-to-be at Holy Name Cathedral. He presented a silk rose and the Medal of St. Gerard, the patron saint of expectant mothers, to all those awaiting the birth of a child.

Moms dealing with some rough times and their children were treated to a tasty brunch at the Haymarket Center on the West Side. It was provided by Tuscany restaurant.

Moms and their families joined together for brunch at the Peninsula Hotel Sunday morning. In addition to all the food, there were activities, games and a magician to entertain the kids.
