The governor was joined by Emmy Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer at Cinespace Chicago Film studios. The state has invested $5 million in the Near Southwest Side facility. It's the nation's largest such studio outside Hollywood.
"Hollywood, everybody knows, is a great place for studios," said Gov. Quinn. "So is London, England. But we want to make sure that Chicago, Illinois, is a place where when you come to make a TV show or a movie."
Last year, film and TV projects brought the state a record $161 million and more than 8,000, the governor said.
