Former ESPN sports personality and Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti is accused of stalking and attacking his ex-girlfriend after a court ordered him to stay away from her.

Mariotti pleaded not guilty to felony charges that include stalking and assault. Prosecutors say he argued with his ex-girlfriend outside a Venice, California, restaurant and pulled a chunk of her hair out while shouting at her.

Mariotti faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
