Chicago Farmers Markets open for season

The 32nd Chicago Farmers Market Season kicked off at Daley Plaza on Thursay. It runs through October.

Seasonal items are available at the markets, as are fresh flowers, potting plants, baked goods and specialty items like honey and and canned goods.

Chef Greg Elliott of Lockwood Restaurant said local chefs also utilize the farmers markets to bring the freshest food choices into their restaurants. His recipes: Nichols Farm Asparagus Salad , Slow Roasted Amish Chicken Breast, and Chilled Pea Soup.
